On Friday, November 20th we will be going to the Hammond Candy Factory for a tour. We will be back in time for lunch.
Monday, November 23rd we will be making Stone Soup. Children have been asked to bring in a carrot, or a potato, or a piece of celery, or an onion. We will be slicing and dicing and creating a delicious soup following the French folktale. We will eat this on Tuesday afternoon before the Turkey Trot.

The students will be bringing home new spelling words on Friday, November 20th but our next test will NOT be until December 11th. (Nov.27 is a holiday, December 4th will be JA in a Day).
The direct line into the classroom is 720.464.5404 but please only call before and after school.
Reminder: Homework goes home on Monday and gets returned the following Monday. Remember this is your child's homework and other than reading to or with them, the rest is their responsibility. following Monday.
We go to lunch at 11:50 and return from recess at 12:35. Our specials are at 1:40-2:20. I will add our schedule to the monthly calendar so you will know when your child needs to wear sneakers.

I value classroom volunteers and would love to have as many as possible. This sends a message to your child that you value what they do in the classroom. It also helps to have children read to adults daily or talk about their writing. If you can come in on a weekly basis, great! If you find you have a hour and nothing to do ( an oxymoron) feel free to drop by anytime.
We started spelling the second week in October. Children get their new words on Friday, have a week to study these words will test on the following Friday. These words come from their own writing and a list of no-excuse words.
