Brown Bag Lunches
From August to October and January to March, we offer a series of learning opportunities known
to the students as Brown Bag Lunches. Each week, students from
Kindergarten through 5th Grade may sign up to have lunch with an
expert in any one of a variety of areas. Children self-select on a weekly basis and eat
lunch in the library with guest speakers ranging from community
volunteers to parents to teachers. The lunch groups are limited to 15
students and take place from 12:00-12:45.
Brown Bag Lunch topics offered in the past have included dentistry, marketing and public relations, Australia, Around the World in 80 Days, Shakespeare, yoga, gardening, the Heifer International project, calligraphy, and many others.
If you are interested in offering a Brown Bag Lunch, please contact Rae Harris, our enrichment coordinator, at Rae_Harris@dpsk12.org.
