Happy Black History Month! While we know that it is not equitable to talk about the contributions, history, and advancements of Black and African-American people only during the month of February, we also know that it is important to celebrate. This year for Black History Month one of our themes is Black Joy. We would love for our families to get involved by sharing with us funny stories, your favorite books to read, or sharing a favorite snack. Talk to your child’s teacher about how you can get involved in our celebrations.

Survey

Did you take the DPS Your Voice/Tu Voz Family Survey? If not, please take it now! Let us know what Montclair and DPS are doing well and how we can improve. We use this information to make choices around social-emotional supports, ways to engage families and celebrate what we are doing well.

Thank you! We appreciate your feedback.

Covid Updates

Exposure notifications – We will no longer send the general letter when there is a case of Covid at school. You will only recieve a letter if your child is required to quarantine. The Covid dashboard contains information of active covid cases and quarantines.

Masks – Additionally, as you may know, the Denver mask mandate ended Thursday; however, please note there continues to be a standing Public Health Order in Denver that requires all individuals two or older to wear a mask in school settings. DPS will continue to abide by that order until further notice. At this time, masking in schools allows our students to be exempt from required quarantines when they are identified as close contact, which in turn maximizes in-person learning days for all DPS students.

Assessment Opt-Out

We have received a few questions about how to opt your student out of CMAS testing. Parents are able to opt out through the parent portal. If you have questions or need assistance, please call the office, 720-424-5380.
