Spring is here! We have 6 weeks left of school and many exciting events taking place. Make sure to put the following on your calendar.
May 5 – International Night (5pm – 7pm)- a night of performances, food, and fun. The students have been working hard in performing arts to learn routines and are excited to perform for you. We will also have, Tacos El Huequito Food Truck on site https://tacos-el-huequito.business.site/. Tacos will be $10.
May 20 – Students will be putting on a production of The Claw. This will be an evening performance.
May 26 – Field Day and BBQ – Students will participate in different fun activities. Afterwards, we will be having an old fashion cookout. Parents are welcome to be spectators for field day. We would love volunteers to help serve.
June 2 – 5th grade continuation. Families are encourage to come and celebrate their 5th grade student with a send off to middle school. If you would like younger siblings to attend, you may bring them with you.
June 3 – Half day and the last day of school.
Denver Public Schools is hosting its FIRST Virtual Poetry Slam, and you are invited to participate!! HOW? Videotape yourself presenting your Slam Poem. Ensure your voice is heard loud and clear! Remember – no props or backdrops … just YOU and your VOICE! All of the guidelines can be found at tinyurl.com/2022DPSVPS THEN WHAT? Next you save your video as either a .mp4 OR a .mov file (no other files can be accepted). Name the file with your full name and school name. Then email it (or share through Google Drive) with dawn_lewallen@dpsk12.net . She will send you confirmation the video was received. Due day for ALL videos to be submitted is May 4th! AND AFTER THAT? Save the date of May 12th @ 6 PM on your calendar!!! We’ll send out the link for viewing and you can sit back and enjoy all the VOICES of DPS!
