Montclair Week 9 Updates

Hello Montclair Families,

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful fall weekend in Denver!

If you have been following the news, you have seen the influx of families coming to Denver from around the world and Denver is experiencing its highest levels of welcoming new to country families.  Montclair School of Academics and Enrichment is excited to support our Denver Community by opening 2 Newcomer Classrooms that will start in the next few weeks.  These 2 new classrooms will focus on providing students with targeted access to academics and English Language Development to ensure their long-term educational success. I will be keep you updated to when we are officially opening these 2 new classrooms.

How can you help?

We are hosting a Montclair Clean Up Morning on Saturday 10/28 from 9:30-11:30am.  We currently have 2 classrooms that have been used for storage that we need to convert back to classrooms.  We need help clearing these rooms, delivering items to Goodwill and starting to set-up the new classrooms.  We would love your help if you are available!

Updates:

  • School Attendance is Vital to your Student(s) Success!  
    • Did you know? Missing 10% of school (1 or 2 days every few weeks) can make it harder to: • Gain early reading and math skills. • Build relationships. • Develop good attendance habits. 
    • Montclair’s School Attendance Goal for the 23-24 School Year: 91.4% average daily attendance (3% increase from 22-23 School Year)
    • Montclair’s Current School Attendance Rate: 90% average daily attendance
    • October Classroom Attendance Reward:  The classroom with the highest attendance rate this month will earn a class party of their choice!

  • Saturday School (2nd-5th Grades): NOW OPEN TO 2nd GRADE Check out this Flyer about Saturday School for 2nd-5th Grades.  Saturday School will be offered and no cost. We started Saturday 10/7/23 and the hours will be from 9:00am- 12:00pm.  If you would like your 2nd-5th grade student(s) to attend please register using the following link.

    • October 23rd- Colorado Ballet Performing at Montclair
    • October 31st- Mask Parade (2:15-2:55 pm) 
    • October 31st- Community and Candy Trail at Montclair (3:20-4:00 pm)
    • November 1st- No School
    • November 6th-10th- Montclair Career Week
    • November 20th-24th- Thanksgiving Break
