Parent Letter December 16th

Posted January 19, 2023

Dear Montclair Families

Winter break is here. Students will be returning to school on Wednesday January 4th. We are about halfway through the school year and learning while having fun!  Enjoy the time off with your families and try to stay warm. Happy winter break from Montclair to all of our community.

Winterfest

Thank you families for coming out to see all of the students in our winterfest performance. The auditorium was full of our amazing families there to support and cheer on our young performers. We had a blast. Thank you to Sammie Harroun for putting together such a wonderful show.

Message From The School Nurse

As a reminder, respiratory illnesses continue to be reported in high numbers in the community. Please continue to report student infections of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), Influenza (flu) and COVID-19 to the Montclair school nurse while school is in session. Please seek guidance from a medical professional for illnesses that last more than three days.

Suggestions for the holidays

  1. Exclude sick individuals from school, work and public activities if they have been diagnosed with RSV for 72 hours after onset of symptoms. (Students 5 years old and younger with respiratory symptoms should be excluded for 72 hours regardless of diagnosis.)
  2. Stay home if you are sick or don’t feel well.
  3. Increase hand washing frequency, especially before and after eating and after you touch your face or blow your nose.
  4. Consider wearing a mask when you are in public, crowded spaces.
  5. Get your flu vaccine and updated COVID-19 booster Cover sneezes and coughs.
  6.  Avoid touching your face and sharing food and frequently used objects.
  7. Increase cleaning and disinfecting in the home and commonly touched surfaces and items.
  8. See or call your healthcare provider when experiencing respiratory symptoms of illness.  Continue to use CDPHE resources.

2022-2023 Guidance for Non-COVID-19 Respiratory Illness Before bringing your students back to school, review the How Sick Is Too Sick  document to figure out what to do when your child does not feel well.

Thank you! Have a wonderful Winter Break and we will see you next year!
