Hello Montclair Families,
I hope this finds you well. My name is Jeana Russell, and I am thrilled to be joining the Montclair team. I am a Colorado native and a proud mother of a four-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son, both of whom are curious and full of energy. In my upbringing, I had the opportunity to ride horses and play soccer. I attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, where I obtained dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Psychology. Additionally, I was actively involved in soccer and represented the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. Even today, I continue to play and coach soccer. During my final year of college, I had the amazing experience of studying abroad in Australia before returning to Colorado.
I have previous experience as both a science teacher and a dean of culture, working with diverse and multilingual student populations. Throughout my career, I have successfully fostered a positive school culture and implemented equitable practices within the education system. I firmly believe in the principles of servant leadership and the importance of building positive relationships. In addition, I am committed to supporting the social and emotional needs of students to ensure their overall success. Currently, I am enrolled in the Ritchie program for Educational Leadership and Policy Studies, aiming to enhance my knowledge and deepen my dedication to education.
I am an approachable, friendly, trustworthy and a motivated individual. As I begin my new role, I will be splitting my time between Place Bridge Academy and Montclair, supporting the transition of the new dean. I am committed to actively engaging with our community and look forward to meeting and connecting with all the students, families and team members. Thank you for welcoming me into the Montclair family.
Warm regards,
Ms. Russell
